The red Kalanit - known in English as the anemone - is Israel's national flower and a powerful symbol of resilience. It blooms brightly in the challenging conditions of southern Israel, where survival itself is an act of defiance. Since the tragic events of October 7th, the Kalanit has taken on even deeper meaning, growing in the very soil where lives were brutally taken. At the site of the Nova Music festival, these vivid red flowers now surround the area, their beauty standing in contrast to the horrors that occurred there. They symbolize the strength to endure and the hope to bloom again - even in the darkest of times. This painting is named after a phrase that has become a message of hope for the people of southern Israel: to rise again, to heal, and to flourish like the Kalanit in the valley. It features 364 Kalanit flowers, each one representing a life lost in the Nova Music Festival Massacre, a festival meant to celebrate peace and unity.
