This piece was created in memory of Natan Rosenfeld, z”l, aged 20 when he died.
I didn’t know Natan personally. I first his story when his father, Avi, came to speak in Toronto, and the way he spoke about him stayed with me. He made sure everyone knew how Natan lived.
His smile. His love of biking. His mischievous personality. The way he made people feel.
That’s the person I wanted to paint.
I created this piece in Toronto and later reached out to Avi to ask if he’d be interested in having it. When he said yes, I brought it with me to Israel, finished it here, and had the incredible privilege of delivering it to his family.
It was an honour I’ll carry with me for a long time.
May Natan’s memory always be a blessing
